About the Job:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead to and implement the Global Operations (“GO”) HSE priorities and programs in consistency with the Global HSE policy / Plan. Global operations include all the offices and Business operations in India (excludes industrial sites). GO objectives and the Regions priorities:

  • To identify, analyze and mitigate risks related to HSE

  • To ensure compliance with regulatory and Opella HSE requirements

  • To improve HSE performance (accidents and incidents reduction, reduction of chronic effects, waste, emission decrease, natural resources conservation).

  • Road safety programs implementation and monitor the progress

  • Lead Sustainability programs implementation in affiliate

MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION

  • Organize and participate in Country HSE Committee, Road Safety steering Committee and Facility Management HSE and Zonal Road safety Committees.

  • Ensure alignment of Country HSE strategy, with Global Operations strategy and Group policies.

  • Set up regular meetings / communications with the HSE network of Zonal teams, Road safety coaches to review objectives and programs progress and to share experience.

  • Rollout HSE program for new employees and support in sales conferences

  • HSE Affiliates Reviews: proceed with regular affiliates HSE reviews including compliance gap assessment, HSE standards & guidelines implementation, accidents & incidents analysis, HSE performance, Annual improvement plan, HSE audits.

  • Ensure visibility of HSE within Global Operations through HSE Reviews, Reports, programs implementation

  • Issue monthly report including affiliates highlights and performance. Contribute to the annual report based on for SIL reporting

  • Health & Wellness: Lead the implementation and management of the Health Promotion Program in the affiliate.

  • Emergency: Prepare and Maintain Emergency Management Plan and Crisis Management Plans in accordance with local hazards and business interruption risks. Provide help and guidance in case of serious HSE event such as fatal or serious accident, natural disaster, or major pollution. Contribute to the recovery program as well as to the event analysis.

  • Projects: provide HSE input at each step of the projects, proceed with regular projects reviews, contractor Safety management,

  • Develop training plan for the affiliate for respective functions to achieve HSE objectives

  • Develop and cascade ad-hoc HSE training material to answer identified needs such as road safety, sub-contractor safety, office safety etc.

HSE Improvement Action plan / Sustainability Roadmap

  • Ensure the development of country action plan in line with Global HSE objectives are communicated to countries within the region.

  • key actions defined and local operational risks are identified, and corrective action planned.

  • Sustainability roadmap action plan integrated I respective departments functioning

  • HSE performance management tools Data Reporting (accident, monthly & annual) For the Global Operations India:

  • Conduct detailed accident and incident investigations, and reporting.

  • Monthly and quarterly and annual reporting of environment, safety and sustainability.

  • Follow up on the progress of Action plan; Corrective Action Plans resulting from HSE Audits, Incidents and inspections.

  • Quarterly reporting to SIL Board on HSE performance

AUDIT

  • Support Country in the development of HSE Management systems and HSE Audit preparation.

  • Ensure the country action plan to answer HSE Audit’s findings is appropriate.

  • Follow-up on the action plan implementation over time (at least every 6 months).

MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION

  • Maintain supply of Safety kits and all support programs to all the employees

  • Keep Pandemic Preparedness plan updated and active

  • Support in maintaining business continuity plan

PROCESS SAFETY LEADER

  • Establish a Process Safety Committee within the India region with clear objectives based on Corporate HSE Standards and AMET needs.

  • Work with HSE POC's, Facility Managers at site level and other experts to assist with Managing Process Safety risks including:

  • Process Safety Risk Assessment

  • Identification of controls

  • Technical solutions

  • Key safety elements

  • Documentation and Training

  • Assist high risk sites to develop a Process Safety Management System.

About You:

Qualification – bachelor’s degree in engineering / science / technology and Diploma in Industrial Safety / Advance Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering / NEBOSH IGC.

Experience - Minimum 10+ years

Preferred industry experience

Pharma or FMCH

Functional Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge of Central HSE requirements.

  • Knowledge of applicable HSE legislations.
