Job Description:

Job purpose

The Special Projects Coordinator supports the Finance Department by assisting with a variety of projects related to financial operations, asset tracking, and process improvement across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role works on cross-functional initiatives that require strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects and support ongoing improvements in a healthcare environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of special projects assigned by the Controller and CFO.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data to support financial and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide support for day-to-day finance-related activities.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring organizational assets, including equipment and capital items.
  • Work with clinical, operations, IT, and facilities teams to support project goals.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned initiatives requiring coordination across departments.
  • Follow up on action items and timelines to ensure project progress.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation to support internal policies and external requirements.
  • Help identify opportunities for improved organization, efficiency, and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and identify trends or inconsistencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Experience supporting projects or process improvement initiatives.
  • Comfort working with data, systems, and cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Education/Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in an administrative, operations, finance support, or project coordination role.
  • Experience in healthcare or a regulated environment preferred but not required.

Working conditions:

This position works in an office environment. This position does not have direct contact with patients. This position also requires occasional travel to other CCI clinics.

Physical requirements:

This position requires that the employee be able to sit at a desk in front of a computer for up to eight hours a day. Some walking and standing may be required to complete tasks.

Tennessee Oncology’s in house pharmacy, Park Pharmacy, stocks oncology and hematology medications not readily available at community retail pharmacies. A URAC accredited Specialty Pharmacy, Park provides insurance and benefits investigation, prior authorization services for insurance coverage, co-pay assistance through manufacturer or foundation programs, extensive medication education, and access to a pharmacist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
