Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Officer to drive growth across our product portfolio, with a strong focus on Cards (Debit & Prepaid) while supporting expansion in Remittance and Enterprise segments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, increasing our client portfolio and delivering measurable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Cards Growth (Primary Focus)

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the company’s cards business.
  • Identify and onboard card partners including banks, fintechs and corporates.
  • Work with partners to drive card usage initiatives to expand transaction volume and revenue.
  • Work closely with senior sales and product teams to tailor solutions to client
  • Maintain accurate lead and opportunity data in the CRM system
  • Provide periodic performance reports for internal and external stakeholders



Account Management

  • Provide account management support to partners on Visa, Mastercard & Verve projects from initiation to launch.
  • Support onboarding of new clients and ensure a smooth handover from sales to
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and
  • Conduct regular check-ins to identify upselling or cross-selling
  • Monitor account health and coordinate with internal teams to resolve any issues.


Portfolio & Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand the company’s wider product portfolio across payments and financial services.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of enterprise customers and strategic partners.
  • Support growth initiatives for corporate payment solutions and embedded finance use cases.


Remittance & Enterprise Support

  • Support partnerships with IMTOs, agents, and enterprise clients to grow remittance inflows and usage.
  • Work with internal teams to design solutions for enterprise customers, including payroll and mass payout products.


Revenue & Performance Management

  • Deliver against agreed KPIs including card volumes, revenue targets, partnerships, and market penetration.
  • Prepare business proposals, pitch decks, and partnership reports for management review.
  • Provide regular performance updates and market intelligence to leadership.


Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline.


Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in business development, sales, or partnerships within:
    • Cards & payments
    • Fintech
    • Banking
    • Switching or merchant acquiring


Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of the cards ecosystem in Nigeria (issuers, schemes, switches, processors).
  • Proven ability to close partnerships and deliver revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • High energy, entrepreneurial mindset, and strong execution capability.


Preferred Attributes

  • Existing network across fintechs, merchants, and card distribution channels.
  • Experience working with Verve, Mastercard, Visa, or card processors.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to track performance metrics.
