Job Description

We are looking for a reliable Lifeguard On Call to ensure the safety of patrons at our facility. Responsibilities include successfully completing the International Lifeguard Training Program and ongoing training requirements, maintaining constant surveillance of patrons, and reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations. The role involves providing emergency care and treatment until the arrival of medical services, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude, and performing maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe facility. Additionally, the Lifeguard will prepare activity reports, handle or refer problems to the Manager, and attend department meetings as scheduled. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for patrons.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete the International Lifeguard Training Program and ongoing training requirements.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts as immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patron’s events of emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports and daily log of events.
• Handles or refers other problems and situations as they arise within the facility to the Manager.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Ability to work both independently and in team procedures.
• Attend department meetings as scheduled along with department staff
• Maintains continuous observation of pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure apparent safety hazards are reported and corrected promptly.
• Efficient organization of work areas.
• Ensuring that all opening and closing duties are completed, e.g. locking area, turning off equipment and lights, etc…

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Previous lifeguard experience and lifeguard certification required.
• Must be available to work Memorial Day Weekend.
