Job Description

Responsible for ensuring proper training and supervision of all restaurant staff, delivering prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Omni Royal Orleans Food and Beverage standards.

Responsibilities

    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the Hotel.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper attire/uniform and name tag when working.
    • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, cleanliness and well being of restaurant guests.
    • Must maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings.
    • Ensure all staff has completed side work checklists for dining room.
    • Spot check liquor pars and order daily supplies.
    • Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste.
    • Check bar controls, shot glass use, red lining, and bottles totally empty daily.
    • Hold pre-shift meetings and ensure department training requirements are met monthly.
    • Follow up on established training steps.
    • Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure member and guest satisfaction.
    • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
    • Stay on the floor during peak hours.
    • Observe, teach, and correct staff’s service in a professional manner.
    • Examine food preparation and beverage presentation.
    • Assist manager in scheduling, and forecasting both weekly and monthly.
    • Participate in interviewing/recruiting as needed.
    • Assist in monthly MOS audits.
    • Prepare maintenance requests and follow-up.
    • Maintain knowledge of the hotel property and events.
    • Participate in department meetings and other required company training.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant management. 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have significant mobility of arms and hands. Must be able to bend, squat and push, pull and lift up to 25-30 pounds.
  • Must be able to see, hear and communicate verbally in writing.
  • 2-3 years experience with computers and various computer programs.
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Individual must be a good listener, effective communicator and detail oriented.
  • Individual will be expected to meet deadlines, work with little supervision and be flexible to handle interruptions.
  • Individual must be literate, have extensive verbal, mathematical and writing skills.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished, oral or diagrammatic form.
  • Must have strong, positive guest and employee relation skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Must have Food Handler's and Louisana Responsible Venders Certifications
