Maintenance Technician
Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department working to repair equipment, operating systems, structure, and grounds of the community in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, to assure that our community is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
Essential Duties
Follow daily work instructions in an efficient manner.
Performs various maintenance work and/or repair in an efficient and timely manner.
Operates and maintains equipment and tools for work performed, operating in a safe manner and using safety standards.
Only works on equipment and chemicals for which they have been properly trained and are aware of the location of the SDS sheets.
Clears snow and debris from sidewalks as needed; assists with completing lawn care duties such as mowing, planting and shrub trimming.
Assist with completing minor and routine painting, plumbing, carpentry and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.
Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web-based trainings.
perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for order, safety, and proper performance of equipment.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

Qualifications
Education
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
Vocational/Technical School or other certification preferred.
Specific Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
Must possess the ability to have patience and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and guests.
