About The Team
The OKX Central Risk function is responsible for overall risk management covering financial risk, enterprise risk, operational risk, fraud risk, quantitative model development, and model validation. We’re deeply committed to the top risk standards of the crypto industry, protecting the company from financial, regulatory and reputational risks. Our team consists of seasoned risk professionals who are based across our global offices.
We are seeking a Senior Risk Manager (focused on product risk and exchange trading risks) to join our dynamic risk management team. In this role, you will not just monitor risks; you will help design the safety mechanisms of our products. You will work side-by-side with the OKX Product and Listing teams from the ideation phase through to launch, ensuring that all new products (e.g. new structured Earn product, a new derivative contract, etc.) are built with robust financial controls, limits, and monitoring capabilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with Product Managers to analyze new products prior to launch, ensuring market, credit, and liquidity risks are comprehensively identified, measured, and managed
- Define risk parameters for new products and markets, including user-level and platform-level financial limits where appropriate
- Evaluate financial risks related to various on-chain "earn" products (e.g. slashing risks, unbonding periods, etc.) offered through the OKX platform
- Work with Product teams to review existing limits on an ongoing basis; perform data-driven analyses to justify increasing or decreasing product-related limits as necessary
- Maintain and improve the financial risk evaluation methodology for prospective new token listings, considering factors such as tokenomics, liquidity depth, etc.
- Over time, develop deep expertise with OKX internal systems and tooling, as well as OKX-specific product implementations
- Lead "post-mortem" reviews on any product-related financial incidents to ensure controls are effective and updated as needed
What We Look For In You
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Statistics, or Finance
- 6 - 8+ years in Risk Management, Trading, or Product Management within Capital Markets, Crypto, or Fintech; experience at another Tier 1 crypto exchange preferred
- Strong crypto product knowledge (e.g. perpetual swaps, expiry futures, options, staking, lending / borrowing) and crypto market microstructure (e.g. centralized exchange structure, defi market structure)
- Deep understanding of various token categories (e.g. network tokens, security tokens, etc) and token-specific supply dynamics (i.e. tokenonomics)
- Track record of working effectively with Product Managers and Engineers, as well as other stakeholders across Risk, Operations, Legal, and Compliance
- Technical proficiency to extract internal and external data as necessary to support product / token assessments and set up ongoing monitoring routines
- Strong communication skills to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
