Background Investigator I/II/III
Annual Salary:
Travel is OCCASIONAL - Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
Background Investigator, Level I - To qualify, applicants must have a bachelor's degree or four years of technical clerical office work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Investigator, Level II - To qualify, applicants must have a bachelor's degree and one year of professional or technical administrative experience in business or public administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.
Background Investigator, Level III - To qualify, applicants must have a bachelor's degree and one year of professional or technical administrative experience in business or public administration plus one year of professional business or public administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.
*Technical administrative experience would include highly complex clerical work gained under the direct supervision of a professional supervisor or manager.
This position is responsible for collecting information from background investigations and criminal history searches on current and prospective employees, community partners, vendors, and volunteers. Information is collected for Child Welfare and Child Care Licensing programs. Additionally, this position will provide technical support to Child Care providers, Child Care Services and Child Welfare Services. This position will also be responsible for contacting courts, district attorney offices, and local law enforcement to obtain necessary documents to complete background check request. The Background Investigator will communicate with OSBI and Idemia for fingerprint investigations.
