Responsibilities

The Mobile Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures while adhering to the highest standards of image quality, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance as required by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (OK DEQ). This role supports Oklahoma Heart Hospital’s mission, vision, and values and may require travel to multiple locations throughout Oklahoma. This position requires both supervised technical performance and independent clinical judgment to ensure safe, accurate, and high-quality nuclear medicine imaging services.

 

This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position, which means OHH reasonably believes this position could affect the safety and health of her or her own self and others.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures per physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Operate under the direction of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and report all radiation safety or compliance issues
  • Verify orders and accurately prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with regulations
  • Adjust dosage and scan times to ensure high-quality diagnostic images
  • Maintain strict radiation safety practices to protect patients, staff, and the public
  • Prepare and maintain imaging rooms, mobile units, and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal in compliance with OK DEQ standards
  • Perform and document required quality control (QC) procedures
  • Meet ACR CME and image quality requirements
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and follow sterile technique guidelines
  • Comply with mobile travel and motor vehicle safety policies as applicable

Qualifications

Education: High School graduate or equivalent required, graduate of an accredited program. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT or ARRT-N) preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification: Registered in Nuclear Medicine or registry eligible, BLS certification and valid driver’s license required

 

Experience:

  • One (1) year experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and nuclear medicine regulations
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical leadership
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites across Oklahoma
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and image quality
