Hospitalist – Community Health Partners / OSU Physicians

Hocking Valley Community Hospital | Logan, Ohio

Community Health Partners is seeking a Hospitalist to join the inpatient team at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, a community-based facility serving a tourist and community patient population in southeast Ohio.

 

Position Highlights

  • Schedule: 7 on / 7 off with 24‑hour responsibility
    • Typical workload averages 8–10 hours per day
    • Some weekend coverage required
  • Patient Volume: ~3 admissions per day
  • Beds: 16 total (med/surg, observation, swing)
  • Staffing Ratios:
    • Med/Surg: 5:1
    • SCU/ICU: 2:1

 

Responsibilities

Scope of Practice

  • Adult inpatient care including ICU coverage
  • Required procedures: intubation, central lines, and critical care

Ideal Candidate

  • Comfortable practicing in a rural hospital setting
  • Collaborative, respectful of medical staff, and supportive of administration
  • Committed to high-quality, community-focused care

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME‑ or AOA‑accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency

Licensure & Certification

  • Eligible for or holding an active Ohio medical license
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • ACLS and BLS certification required (ATLS preferred, if applicable)

Clinical Experience & Skills

  • Experience in adult inpatient hospital medicine
  • Comfortable managing ICU‑level patients in a community hospital setting
