CNC Setup Lead
This is a full-time hourly position that works primarily during first shift (Mon-Thu 6am-5pm) but may be required to adjust working hours as needed to adequately lead the team and meet production demands.
Manufacturing Support team member Essential Job Functions:
In this role, you will be a part of a dynamic team in all aspects of manufacturing high-quality components in a fast-paced environment. As a team member, you will be a part of daily production activities assigned by your team lead. Through the practice of utilizing a daily management system, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback towards process improvements and lean initiatives.
- Set up and operate all types of CNC lathes, including single turret, twin turret, with and without live tooling
- Ensure process is operating at peak efficiency and quality
- Follows set-up schedule provided by team leader
- Maintain quality system by following ISO standard practices
- Tool Change/ Tool setting
- Support operators in making tooling offsets
- Setup of new and existing job tooling and Work-holding following setup sheet
- Indicate Vises/Fixtures/bore soft jaws proficiently
- Run 1st article piece and perform 1st piece inspection
- Stage area for production
- Train other operators to current best practices via On the job training
- Ability to make parts production ready
- Troubleshooting complex problems
Other Job Functions:
- Leads/assist in improvement projects and problem-solving activities
- Participate in department responses to corrective actions, and preventative actions
- Perform or facilitate routine safety, quality, and work skills training
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
- This position requires the successful candidate to not be a prohibited person under the Gun Control Act (GCA), codified at 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years CNC Machining experience
- Experience practicing Lean Manufacturing principles
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes used in the machining department
- Experience with programming CNC lathes manually and using CAM software (MasterCAM preferred) a plus

Environmental and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed on a 10 acre, 6 campus building; potential need to move between buildings. Must have physical ability to walk between buildings as necessary.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical machinery and equipment.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Requires the ability to lift (75lbs)
- Standing for extended periods and moving around the production floor frequently.
