About this role

GIMS Data Base Administrator, Office of Technical Services, PN 20065709

What You Will Do:

  • You will manage and maintain the Road Inventory Management System (RIMS) database, ensuring data integrity and federal/state compliance.
  • You will coordinate and support State, Local, and Annexation roadway data projects in collaboration with ODOT districts, MPOs, and partners.
  • You will prepare and certify roadway data and reports, including Local Road Mileage Certification and provide support for the annual Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submission.
  • You will support data standards, system updates, and stakeholder coordination related to items such as functional classification, and the National Highway System (NHS).
  • You will oversee and administer the State Projects and Annexation databases to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely updates.
  • You will utilize ESRI's Roads and Highways extension in ArcGIS Pro, and other related applications.

4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in database & information management & data base systems & use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting,

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.

-Or Completion of graduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.

-Or 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. as GIMS Specialist 2, 85772.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
