Position Summary

Provide a planning service to cover all on/ offshore inspection activities, in association with Oceaneerings engineering support service and client companies.


Duties And Responsibilities

Functions

ESSENTIAL

  • Ensure effective planning for all inspection activities i.e. Pressure Systems, Pipelines and Structures
  • Develop inspection plans to align with the integrated inspection strategies.   
  • Align the Maintenance Management System (MMS) data set to ensure that the inspection Planned Maintenance (PMs) and Work Orders (WOs) are scheduled appropriately and monitored. 
  • Engage with Oceaneering Project team to ensure relevant gate criteria are met. 
  • Liaise with the Client's Planning Department to update all gate compliance.
  • Liaise with the Client's Planning Department to ensure all other services (involved with inspection activities) are scheduled into the offshore planning process to satisfy gate compliance.  
  • Take responsibility for updating scheduled start and finish dates within MMS to coincide with planned inspection visits.
  • Ensure timescales for inspection activities are realistic by liaising with all impacted parties. 
  • Monitor and update integrated inspections on a weekly basis for discussion with Client Integrity team.
  • Work closely with Oceaneering Inspection Engineers (OIE and SIE) and Engineering Assistants to ensure full visibility of planned and completed works.
  • Endeavour to develop innovative solutions, in order to optimize project efficiency and differentiate Oceaneering from its competitors.
  • Attend technical and operational meetings as required.
  • Ensure Operations Managers/ Team Leaders approve or are informed (as specified by the Operations Group) of all external communications relating to their projects.

NON-ESSENTIAL  

  • The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.

Safety

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.
Actively participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as required by company and client.
Ensure that all Safety procedures are always adhered to and that required documentation is kept updated.

Other

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent, Minimum grade 12 certification
  • Base qualification in engineering, database systems or equivalent

NOTE: This is an office-based position but there could be occasions when there will be a requirement to visit offshore locations.

DESIRED

  • HNC (or equivalent) in in an engineering or business-related discipline
  • Microsoft specialist certification 
  • Working knowledge of NDT Inspection Systems 
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Fluent in reading and writing English (E).
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent, Minimum grade 12 certification (E)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project environment (E)
  • 3 years’ experience in Project Planning within the engineering arena (E)Previous experience in oil & gas industry, track record of supporting the management of engineering / 
    inspection projects (E)
  • Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures (E).
  • Previous experience in financial control and budgets (E)
  • Previous experience of coaching and mentoring. (P)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suits. (E)
  • Excellent customer service and client relations skills (E)
  • Familiarity with ACET or other databases and other discipline specific software (E)
  • MMS Systems (MAXIMO, SAP etc.)
  • Gives and receives constructive feedback while coaching and mentoring activities. (E)
  • Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within the work group. (E)

Working Conditions

This position is considered which OFFSHORE WORK (>90%) is characterized as follows:

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
  • Occasional ONSHORE WORK maybe required (<10%)
  • Frequently outdoors in Angola region offshore environment
  • Regular exposure to inclement weather, hot climate, and noise in the workplace
  • Normally on vessels subject to wave motion
  • Transit to offshore facilities by marine transfer boat.
