Job Summary:

The Head of Mortgage Sales (HK & Overseas Properties) “Head of MSs” leads and oversees the entire mortgage sales function within CFS, managing 3 Team Heads and their respective teams (totalling 18 staffs). This is a leadership role responsible for driving mortgage loan business growth, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards of compliance and credit quality across the mortgage sales team. The Head of MS will collaborate closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to achieve business targets, operational collaborations. and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Lead, mentor, and develop 3 Team Heads and their teams to achieve and exceed mortgage loan drawdown targets and business objectives.

• Develop and execute mortgage sales strategies aligned with the bank’s overall retail banking goals.

• Drive marketing and business development initiatives to expand mortgage customer base and strengthen relationships with key business partners (property agents, mortgage brokers, solicitors, accountants, etc.).

Operational Excellence & Compliance

• Oversee the end-to-end mortgage sales process across all teams, ensuring smooth coordination with Loans Operations, Fulfilment, Product, Risk, and Compliance teams.

• Maintain high standards of credit quality and risk management, ensuring loan portfolios meet internal policies and HKMA regulations.

• Ensure 100% compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and codes of conduct.

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance customer experience.

• 100% adherence to customer due diligence procedures.

• Attend all required internal / external training

Team Management & Development

• Provide strong leadership, coaching, and performance management to Team Heads, fostering a high-performance culture.

• Encourage staffs to attend ongoing training and professional development programs to build team capabilities and knowledge.

• Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within and across teams to maximize referral and cross-selling opportunities.

• Oversee recruitment & resource planning for the mortgage sales team.

Risk & Reputation Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and reputational risks within the mortgage sales function.

• Ensure controls and adherence to risk management frameworks to safeguard the bank’s interests.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Act as the key liaison between mortgage sales teams and senior management, providing regular updates on business performance, challenges, and opportunities.

• Collaborate with other departments (Premier Banking, Insurance, Investment Services, Branch Network) to drive integrated sales efforts and holistic customer solutions.

• Represent the mortgage sales team in internal and external events / engagements.

Event Participation & Special Projects

• Lead departmental participation in after-working hours events, property exhibitions, seminars, and other promotional activities.

• Support and drive special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree holder or related discipline

  • Pass in HKSI and IIQE Licensing Examinations

  • Minimum of 10 years banking experience in retail banking / mortgage business sales / coaching experience.

  • Strong sales driven and result-oriented

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua
