Solution Architect – Risk & Compliance

You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop architecture solutions that meet their requirements. You'll also need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of technology solutions.

What you do

Risk Architecture (Credit, Market, Operational, Liquidity)

  • Credit Risk: Architect solutions for PD/LGD/EAD modelling, credit rating engines, ECL/IFRS9 computation, credit approval workflows, credit decisioning rules, collateral/limit monitoring, and stress‑testing processes.

  • Market & Liquidity Risk: Design integration patterns for market data, sensitivities/Greeks, VaR/ES models, FRTB data structures, liquidity risk monitoring (LCR/NSFR), intraday liquidity, and risk aggregation/reporting engines.

  • Operational Risk: Define architectures for RCSA, KRI frameworks, incident/loss event management, scenario analysis, and control testing platforms.

  • Ensure consistent end‑to‑end capabilities spanning data sourcing, risk factor modelling, scenario generation, aggregation, analytics, controls, reporting, and lineage.

Compliance Architecture (AML/KYC, Sanctions, Fraud, Screening)

  • AML/Transaction Monitoring: Architect solutions for rules‑based, AI/ ML‑based detection engines, alert scoring, segmentation models, scenario tuning, and case lifecycle management.

  • KYC: Architect solutions for onboarding, CDD/EDD, periodic reviews, adverse media screening, risk scoring, and risk‑tiering models.

  • Sanctions & Watchlist Screening: Define high‑performance architectures for name screening (fuzzy matching, transliteration, phonetic algorithms), sanctions screening (OFAC, UN, MAS), and payment screening.

  • Fraud Management: Establish patterns for real‑time fraud detection (transaction, behavioural, device‑based), graph analytics, velocity checks, and cross‑channel fraud orchestration.

1. Align Solution Design with Enterprise Strategy

Align risk & compliance architectures to enterprise standards/roadmaps; ensuring solution designs consistently align with enterprise blueprints, guidelines, roadmap and guiding principles.

2. Deliver Comprehensive Solutions Design Artefacts

Publish domain‑specific solution designs and architectural design patterns, including golden sources, risk data marts, lineage models, explainability controls, and hybrid rules/ML detection frameworks.

3. Deep Domain Expertise with Agility

Possess in-depth knowledge of Treasury domain expertise across one or more: pricing & analytics, position management, risk (VaR/Greeks), P&L explain, collateral, confirmations/settlements, intraday liquidity, ALM/FTP, hedge accounting.

4. Collaborate and Govern Effectively

Identify and raise architecture deviations and manage tech debt resolutions to Architecture / Platforms forums for timely resolution and alignment.

5. Hands-On Engagement with Delivery Teams and Users

Hands‑on engagement with trading, risk, operations, and finance stakeholders; as well as across delivery, partnering closely with engineers, data scientists, and platform teams to ensure solutions adhere to design and best practices (data quality, observability, resiliency, cost).


Who you are

1. Preferably 7-10 years in enterprise / solutions architecture and cloud-native technologies such as microservices, Kubernetes, kafka/MQ, redis, databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle).

2. Deep, practical experience in at least two major Risk domains and two major Compliance domains:

  • Credit Risk: PD/LGD/EAD, IFRS9/ECL, stress testing, rating systems, credit lifecycle.

  • Market Risk: VaR/ES, sensitivities/Greeks, FRTB, stress scenarios, risk aggregation.

  • Operational Risk: RCSA, KRI, incident/loss data, scenario analysis, control monitoring.

  • AML/KYC: CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, adverse media screening.

  • Fraud: real time detection, behavioural analytics, device intelligence, social graph insights.

  • Screening: sanctions, name screening (phonetic/fuzzy algorithms), transaction filtering.

3. Strong knowledge of regulatory & control frameworks: Basel II/III, IFRS9, MAS TRM, MAS AML/CFT, FATF, Wolfsberg standards, Model Risk Governance.

4. Experience integrating with fraud/AML systems, risk engines, workflow/case management platforms, graph analytics engines, data quality/lineage tools, and BI/reporting stacks.

5. Strong communicator able to influence and engage across 1LOD, 2LOD, 3LOD, business, and technology stakeholders.

6. Proven ability to define new architectures, lead projects independently, and drive adoption of best practices.

7. Strong analytical and decision-making skills; proactive and resourceful.
