Project Management Office (PMO) - Governance Specialist

To succeed in this role, you'll need to have strong analytical skills with deep understanding of project management principles and have exposure in governance, risk and controls with a keen eye for detail. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and improve processes that meet their objectives while ensuring compliance. You'll need to be proactive, adaptable, and able to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization.
What you do
Establish, implement, and maintain the IT Project Management framework, standards, and best practices - Including periodic reviews, impact assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
Support governance of standards across all IT projects within the portfolio.
Conduct gap analysis of new regulations and Bank's policies to established processes / guidelines to ensure compliance.
Identify technology risk/security gaps and recommend mitigation measures.
Continuously enhance policies and procedures to reflect industry best practices.
Implement effective compliance controls and highlight non-conformances from a process perspective.
Assist to facilitate audits for Technology Project & Platform Solutions, ensuring timely and adequate responses and documentation.
Perform periodic risk assessments for PMO, coordinate responses on controls and ensuring conformance to guidelines, participate in risk forums and discussions
Conduct briefing and training sessions under Governance team’s purview
Provide additional support for project risk and governance-related tasks, including country specific reporting.
Who you are
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile Scrum).
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Agile and adaptable, with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity and change
Preferably certified in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) and/or governance-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Capable to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
