We are seeking a skilled Rotary Grinder Machinist to inspect, prepare, and grind precision components while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect parts prior to grinding to identify chips, cracks, or defects.
Verify workpiece dimensions against blueprint specifications.
Inspect incoming parts from other departments for accuracy and quality.
Review blueprints for inconsistencies and communicate findings as needed.
Apply basic grinding principles and practices to support accurate machining operations.
Record job times accurately for tracking and reporting purposes.
Provide input and suggestions to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and state and federal regulations.
Promote a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free workplace.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Ability to diagnose and correct equipment or process issues using test equipment and/or prior experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand written correspondence and technical documentation.
Must be a U.S. citizen or able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, sit, or bend for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and with control.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, ear protection, and safety shoes.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:
On-site role within a precision machining facility.
Frequent exposure to large industrial machinery and moving mechanical parts.
Moderately high noise levels in a manufacturing environment.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of a surface grinding apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
