About this role

O’Reilly’s Summer Internship Program is an in-person, 9-week, paid, summer program that offers students the opportunity to work closely with experienced leaders and professionals in different departments and to showcase their knowledge by providing recommendations and feedback. Throughout the internship, students will build upon their current skillsets, while applying their education to meaningful, impactful projects.

Interns will be paired with one department for the summer and will be responsible for assisting their team with special projects and daily tasks that will contribute to the success of the company. Along with a mentor, interns will design their Career Development Plan and complete tasks and projects to gain the experience necessary to achieve their career goals.

What You Will Do:

Assist in monitoring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) platform for potential security threats

Assist with incident documentation, containment procedures, and remediation efforts under the direction of senior analysts

Documentation and Backup: Draft and maintain basic technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and create backup files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur

Horizon Scanning: Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues

Are entering their junior or senior year of college (minimum 60 completed credit hours), or be a graduate student
