Overview

NV5 is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join our Americas Mission Critical team and service our clients nationally as needs dictate. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and well versed in commissioning, facility engineering, construction, and operations. The market served will include mission critical.  Duties and responsibilities related to this position are listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical delivery both as a project lead and technical resource for mission critical commissioning projects with minimal supervision while completing assignments that require independent judgement and evaluation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships. Develop relationships on projects that accrue good will with our existing clients and collaborate with our management team to extend our existing relationships.
  • Develop and manage project specific commissioning plans, commissioning procedures, checklists, test scripts, and schedules for Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities.
  • Perform technical reviews of design documents and submittals specific to Electrical Systems.
  • Lead onsite teams to perform functional performance tests on Electrical systems.
  • Assist in providing project management and coordination to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • 10 years or more of progressive experience in building systems commissioning with at least 3 years of mission critical facility experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
  • Able to work as part of a team, think creatively, and problem solve.
  • Working knowledge and experience of electrical systems.
  • Willingness to travel 75% or more as national level projects dictate.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • PE License or ability to obtain

  • NICET Certification
