The Payroll Manager is accountable for the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of payroll for more than 26,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada. This role leads in-country payroll teams, ensures system and process integrity, and partners closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to deliver high-quality payroll services while driving continuous improvement.  

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop a diverse team of in-country payroll professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Oversee, efficient, compliant payroll operations while maintaining comprehensive process documentation, sensitivity to private/personal data, and strong internal controls
  • Approve payroll processing, resolving all issues to ensure on-time and accurate delivery.
  • Align payroll operations with business strategy and evolving organizational needs.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. and Canadian payroll, tax, and employment regulations.
  • Oversee general ledger reconciliations and payroll internal and external audits.
  • Lead year-end payroll activities, including statutory filings and compliance validation.
  • Deliver high-quality service to employees, HR, and business stakeholders.
  • Build strong partnerships with U.S. and Canadian HR and business leaders to strengthen cross-functional collaboration across all HR functions.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve payroll service delivery.
  • Support global payroll alignment through standardized processes, service level agreements, and operational governance.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of payroll experience with a current payroll certification.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax, and wage and hour regulations; Canadian experience is an asset.
  • Strong experience with large ERP payroll systems and reporting platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching, developing, and retaining high-performing payroll teams.
  • Proven ability to design, standardize, and optimize processes in complex, fast-paced, shared-services or global environments.
  • Strong project, time, and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • High level of professional integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed leader with the ability to work independently while driving alignment across functions.
