Senior Biomedical Scientist (Chemistry/Haematology)

Tunbridge Wells Hospital | Pathology | FIXED TERM Contract (18 months)

Up to £45,000.00 depending on experience

37.5 hours per week and on-call

As a Biomedical or Senior Biomedical Scientist at our Tunbridge Wells Hospital, you’ll bring the relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques. You’re also a natural communicator and team player, and you share our idea of quality.

As a Senior/Biomedical Scientist, you will: 

  • Deliver quality pathology services and taking a share of covering on-call service out of hours.

  • Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation and reporting, through to quality control.

  • Support the organisation in validating and assessing new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures. This is part of our ongoing quest to deliver the very best experience possible for patients.

  • Active in the Quality Management of the department.

  • Support POCT within the hospital.

As a Senior/Biomedical Scientist you will need:

  • To be HCPC registered.

  • BSc/MSc Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).

  • Relevant laboratory experience in multi-disciplinary biomedical science and with Chemistry, Haematology/Blood Transfusion experience.

  • Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of multi-disciplinary techniques.

  • The ability to understand how vital it is to maintain good customer relationships and provide high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
