Basic Job Functions
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
The Position
Spotter Teammates are responsible for the safe movement of C.H.I. trailers in and out of the loading docks. This position also delivers loads to local C.H.I. Dealers, as well as retrieves production materials from local suppliers.
Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm. Must be flexible to cover other shifts' vacations as needed.
Related Job Duties
- Reads lists and performs work as assigned by supervisors.
- Lifts, stacks and packs overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, assemblies, and/or other material.
- Perform regular trailer yard checks.
- Uses hands or equipment in the movement of garage doors, hardware or related products.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Compensation & Benefits
$22.60 + 1.00 Shift Differential + Weekly Production Bonus Example: Hourly Base Rate = 23.60 Weekly Production Bonus = 55%. Total Hourly Rate = 36.58
Production Bonus
Production Bonus percentage is variable, determinate upon attaining production goals each week. Production Bonus is paid out weekly.
Profit-Sharing
10% of Nucor’s pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings. Eligible earnings include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.
