Category Specialist
The Category Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve cost effectiveness and operational efficiency. This role ensures adherence to governance standards and compliance throughout all procurement activities.
Responsibilities: -
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Drive cost optimization through innovative ideas, market intelligence, and business scenario analysis.
- Manage contracts within the assigned category, ensuring compliance and performance.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to safeguard supply continuity and minimize exposure.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to enhance collaboration and performance.
- Implement responsible sourcing framework and conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to environmental and social standards.
Requirements: -
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a procurement role with proven experience in spend analysis, sourcing strategy, category management and contract management.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong supplier relationship management experience
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Good command of English and strong computer literacy
- Additional: Ability to analyze business scenarios and drive innovative cost optimization strategies.
