Job Description

 

As a railcar unloader you are responsible for unloading of resin and talc from railcars in a manufacturing plant setting ensuring all safety, quality and unloading procedures are always followed. transferring finished goods in a high-volume environment. 

Compensation: Pay Range from $20.62 to $24.47 - Paid weekly (Based on Experience)

Shift: Days - 7AM to 7PM - 2-2-3 Schedule

Safety 

  • Seek to understand and support a safety culture and workplace 
  • Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of all required PPE for the job 
  • Responsible for following all required safety procedures are for each task you do 
  • Keep work area clean and organized  
  • Immediately address and escalate any safety concern, risk, hazard, near miss, or injury immediately to the appropriate supervision on shift 

Productivity 

  • Perform required tasks operating appropriate equipment – clamp truck, sit down truck, stand up truck, slip sheet truck, barcode readers and safety equipment, etc. 
  • Receive and understand material movement orders and transport material to and from designated areas in the facility. 
  • Ability to perform the dispatch function which consists of: properly checking in/out trailers, post Bill of Ladings as required, scan to Bill of Ladings to Network, 
  • Perform Standard Work BBS Observations and LTO Standard Work Gemba Walks. 
  • Mentor and train new/current employees on LTO tasks: Equipment, RF, Picking, Loading, etc. 
  • Ability train & certify employees on all powered industrial equipment in warehouse. 
  • Support CI initiatives as needed. 
  • Follow all safety and operating rules. 
  • Inventory: Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation. 
  • Safety, Sanitation, Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum 5+ years of related work experience including exposure to material handling     procedures 
  • LTO certification required 
  • Stand-up Forklift Truck Experience 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be self-directed and can work with little supervision. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able and willing to handle extreme heights by taking silo readings from 65' silos 
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner. 
  • Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed 
  • Must be able to stand for 12 hours due to the nature of the work 
  • Must be able to wear the required PPE to enter the plant/complete the tasks 
  • We expect regular and timely attendance to avoid disruption to the team and the line.
