Job Description

 

Pay Range: 25/hr

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform research, design and development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and methods including production flow and production equipment.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedules.
  • Complete projects related to cost reduction/savings, Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, and Automation Implementation.
  • Serve as participating member for teams during Kaizen events and follow up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvements.
  • Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Distribute product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel.
  • Assist in developing our equipment database in Maintenance Connect, our CMMS software.  This includes adding/updating documentation, drawings, BOM’s, etc.
  • Assist in maximizing the efficient utilization of the parts room and make recommendations on improving processes and organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Control, and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem analysis and problem resolution.
  • Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge preferred.
  • 2D and/or 3D CAD knowledge strongly preferred.
