Job Description

 

The Injection Molder Technician is responsible for the start-up, shut down and troubleshooting of the molding process during normal production runs. Will also set up injection molding machines and related equipment to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels at the standard rates that have been established. Assist the maintenance department with troubleshooting problems with injection molding machines and related support equipment, including automation.

 

Compensation:

 

Novolex is required by laws in many locations to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.00 to $28.00 per hour.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with mold department supervisors, mold maintenance and mold technicians in order to identify problems in the processing of product.
  • Take a proactive Preventive Maintenance position with the shop’s tooling.
  • Work with the outside sources as necessary to develop processing techniques related to tooling.
  • Review injection molding processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Ensure injection molding processes are optimized and documented.
  • Maintain cavitation.
  • Assist action teams and increase awareness of continuous improvement to the technical staff.
  • Start up new tools, document and develop process sheets.
  • Successfully complete all required safety training and operator training courses.
  • Other tasks as needed or as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, some technical school preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the injection molding process.
  • Must be able to provide weekend work coverage and work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
  • The commitment to stay safe and to continue to learn and develop.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
