| Introduction The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education invites applications from Permanent, Probationary and Temporary (Casual) employees currently with Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education as well as outside applicants for the following Licensed Mechanic. This is a Full time Regional position serving the Cobequid Family of Schools, based in Truro. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Minimum Requirements o Province of Nova Scotia Truck (Bus) and Transport Mechanic Certificate or enrolled in an apprenticeship program; [applicants must include a copy of Certificate, if applicable] o Minimum of Grade 12 High School Graduation Certificate or academic equivalent through educational programs such as a Graduated Equivalent Diploma; o Minimum of three (3) years work experience in the trade (preference for commercial/industrial/ educational settings); o Must have training or be willing to receive training in applicable safety programs. o Able to perform duties with minimal supervision; o Valid Nova Scotia Driver´s License - Class 2 or higher, or willing to obtain such Class. o Other Assets: o Ability to perform duties effectively with minimum supervision. o Must possess or be willing to obtain relevant health and safety courses in First Aid, WHMIS, etc. or other regulatory training courses; o Must demonstrate competency in computer skills. o Must be proficient and knowledgeable in diagnostic systems. |

| Additional Assets Qualifications o Valid Nova Scotia Driver´s license Class 2 or higher, or willing to obtain such Class. o Province of Nova Scotia Truck (Bus) and Transport Mechanic Certificate, including air brake endorsement or enrolled in an apprenticeship program. o Minimum of Grade 12 High School Diploma or academic equivalent through educational programs such as a Graduated Equivalent Diploma. o Minimum of three (3) years work experience in the trade (preference for commercial/industrial/educational settings). o Must have training or be willing to receive training in applicable safety programs. |
