About this role

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department.
  • Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
  • Manage budget and expenditures.
  • Ensure that all departments are aware of their contractual responsibilities and customer expectations are satisfied.
  • Interface with managers and responsible salespersons to establish relative project priorities for the organization.
  • Provide support to marketing/sales for new proposal preparation in anticipation of new contracts.
  • Assure critical tasks are on target and communicate problem areas to management.
  • Develop the project management team to effectively manage projects.
  • Create Project Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Review all projects and create reports to top Management.
  • Review major variances from project plans and oversee corrective action.
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide departmental leadership and take responsibility for business development of the ALM Automation Program for the Western Hemisphere operations.
  • Define and develop business/pricing models to support growth of the ALM Program, whilst also maximizing revenue and profitability. 
  • Prepare financial plans, forecasts, and analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Accountability for monitoring departments financial performance and ensuring it is in alignment with financial plan/forecast.
  • Drive strategic and technical development or sustainment of system solutions to continually improve ALM service offering. This should include feature enhancements, efficiency gains, improved reporting, system configuration, or any other means to improve customer experience, deliverables and satisfaction. 
  • Provide short and long term recommendations to the Management team by defining, developing and adapting business/pricing models to incentivize commercial services, to grow market share and profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with PLMs, Sales, Engineering and Regional Aftermarket groups to understand and measure internal and external customer requirements. Resulting in an aligned services and strategic development roadmap, with a focus to grow global market share and implement continual improvement of services available.
  • Contribute to the Management, Sales and Business Development teams by building relationships / networks internally and with Customers.
  • Lead and manage the development of the WH ALM Program within global Aftermarket operations; by developing business models, standard operation practices/processes, methods of operation, management of change and rollout of standardized training content to enable personnel and support the operation. Implement continual review and monitoring practices / performance indicator metrics toward remote support services to measure success.
  • Represent Aftermarket interests / requirements and collaborate with Corporate/Product Engineering toward the sustainment, development, and obsolescence management of ALM solutions. 
  • Lead the vendor and services development requirements for operational and technical improvement of services capabilities with strategic development management; including technical sustainment for existing services and development toward new operational areas and markets. Manage vendor contracts and support vendor relationships to ensure compliance of terms and benefit toward NOV services provisions.
  • Define and oversee competency and training goals/programs for assigned personnel, to grow their capability
  • Manage personnel levels and structure in order to receive, evaluate, deliver, and respond to events and customer notifications within a managed and consistent service operation.
  • Enforce local employee compliance with NOV and customer cybersecurity policies, adhere to approved remote support and data handling protocol.
  • Ensure local employee compliance with NOV company QHSE policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in rig operations, preferably top side drilling operations. 
  • 5+ years within a technical or operational management role, ideally with experience of managing a multi-disciplined team and Project Management
  • 3+ years P&L finance accountability within an operation and proficient in financial analysis/forecasting.
  • PMP certification preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Establish relationships, perform information sharing / analysis with other operational and operations support teams, to define requirements for performance monitoring methods and technical development (i.e. AM Programs / AM TESS / AM Service / AM EMS / AM Education Services etc) towards an integrated AM global service.
  • Define and develop business/commercial models as required, to grow market share and profitability for performance monitoring services and sustainment. Monitor operational and commercial success post-deployment
  • Establish standard reporting requirements and routines to manage and analyze operations (i.e. Tracker, PIMS, OMEGA). 
  • Create, store and find documents in RigOffice and Team Center. 
  • Perform work according to quality management system, in accordance with ISO 9001:20xx and NOV BPM website; remain integrated into each facility’s ISO certification.
  • Understand NOV Rig Systems and Aftermarket task organization; work with key senior managers to maximize results.
  • Enforce NOV approved practices in preparing for and executing remote troubleshooting and/or remote software upgrades.
 
 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Familiar with latest technologies and industry development toward performance monitoring  methods, configurations.
  • MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
  • Broad knowledge of NOV Rig Systems products and their functionality across the disciplines of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or controls.
  • Familiar with NOV Aftermarket quotation tools (e.g. Compass & Tracker 2)
  • Financial planning and marketing strategy
  • Familiar with latest technologies and industry development toward performance monitoring  methods, configurations.
