About the Role

We are currently looking for two Operation Encompass Schools Liaison officer. 

We have an exciting opportunity for two individuals to come and join Leicestershire County Council’s Extended Domestic Abuse Team. The Domestic Abuse liaison Officer roles were created to provide training to schools in order to develop the support offered to children and families after the Police are called out to domestic abuse incidents resulting in schools receiving Operation Encompass notifications.

Job role - to provide training and support to schools using a trauma informed approach to understand the impact of domestic abuse and children and young people

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You

For this post we are looking for an individual who:

  • Is passionate about making a difference to children and young people 
  • Has a working knowledge of Operation Encompass
  • Are confident at presenting to other professionals
  • Has the skills to work with schools across Leicestershire to support there understanding of domestic abuse and how to support children and YP when they receive an OE call
  • Is aware of trauma informed practise and is committed to driving this work forward within LCC

To apply for this post, you must respond to and evidence the following 7 essential criteria within your personal statement.

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. /NVQ4 childcare, youth justice, social work qualification, teaching qualification, child nursing qualification, or
  • Significant and demonstrable and relevant knowledge and experience evidenced against the headings below including significant experience of working within children and family services in a multi-agency environment. 
  • Experience of supporting staff to maintain, develop and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Experience of assessing information and application of thresholds/criteria to ensure an appropriate response is made to requests for support.
  • Experience of working with families with a range of needs and from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience of working with children and families who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Ability to deliver training, coaching, share information, etc in a way which motivates and inspires others to develop their practice.
  • Ability to quickly analyse information and apply threshold criteria to support the screening of referrals.
