JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Cashier greets customers, accepts refill and new prescription requests, and answers phone and processes cash register transactions for the Pharmacy. The cashier also receives pharmacy merchandise orders and organizes over the counter purchases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and Wait on Customers.
Maintain order in Customer waiting area to ensure client confidentiality.
Accepts refill and new prescription requests.
Advice Patients on HIPPA Practices and Refer for Rx Counseling as needed.
Sight verify Rx labels and tickets before packaging for patient pick-up.
Process Cash Register and Credit Card machine transactions.
Answering Phones.
Receive in and unpack orders.
Prepare delivery orders.
Maintain appropriate levels of change in cash register.
Maintain inventory of over-the-counter items.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, on the phone and in person.
Possess physical ability to stand for 4 hours at a time.
Ability to work with others as part of a team.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required
EXPERIENCE
Customer service experience preferred
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
State of Vermont Licensed Pharmacy Technician
