Description of Position:
Under the direction of your supervisor, the Transportation Driver - PT is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of company-owned vehicles to transport maritime crew members, captains, and related personnel, along with luggage, boxes, and other items between designated locations. The Transportation Driver must maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service while adhering to all company policies and applicable transportation regulations. The role also involves maintaining vehicle readiness, completing accurate documentation, and communicating effectively with dispatch, operations, and management to ensure timely and compliant service delivery.
Summary of Objectives:
- Safely, efficiently, and professionally operate company vehicles to transport personnel, luggage, parcels, and other items between assigned locations (e.g., vessels, ports, airports, hotels, USCBP, medical facilities).
- Plan and evaluate driving routes in advance for efficiency, taking into account traffic, weather, and scheduling considerations.
- Monitor and follow assigned schedules daily; communicate proactively with dispatch regarding any changes, delays, or issues affecting service delivery.
- Accurately prepare and submit required trip logs, manifests, and delivery reports, including crew names and signatures, immediately following each transport.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws, as well as company safety, HSEQ, and compliance policies.
- Ensure all passengers and cargo are transported in compliance with applicable safety guidelines.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of assigned vehicles at all times.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and promptly report any safety concerns or mechanical issues to management.
- Perform basic vehicle upkeep and coordinate with management or maintenance providers for scheduled service or repairs.
- Ensure all transportation vehicles are consistently maintained in safe, compliant working condition.
- Maintain professional, courteous, and clear communication with internal departments, crew members, customers, port authorities, and government agencies.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or unusual occurrences promptly and in accordance with company protocol.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of all required logs, documentation, and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with dispatch, operations, and management teams to ensure seamless coordination and high-quality service delivery.
Misc.
- Maintain flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with business needs.
- Assist with other operational and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Travel between port locations and other assigned locations as required.
- Abide by company HSEQ policies and procedures.

Requirements:
Education/Experience
- A combination of relevant education (e.g., degree, certifications) and hands-on experience is preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, maritime, logistics, or a related field desirable, but not required.
- Prior experience in transportation, maritime, or logistics is preferred.
Requirements/Licenses
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- Must have and maintain reliable and consistent transportation and valid auto insurance in compliance with state regulations.
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Card must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.
- First Aid skills or certificates are considered assets.

Working Conditions:
- This position is based both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments, including maritime ports, docks, and vessels. Outdoor work may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, rain, wind, and cold.
- Regular exposure to dust, noise, mechanical hazards, and active marine environments is expected.
- May spend extended periods driving or on standby, requiring prolonged sitting.
- Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, and carrying transport-related items is required.
- Climbing gangways and boarding vessels in challenging weather or sea conditions may be required.
- Minimal exposure to physical risk; however, employees must follow all company safety protocols, including proper ergonomic practices and general workplace safety procedures.
- May be required to attend safety briefings or training relevant to the maritime and transportation industries to support understanding of company operations.
- Must adhere to all workplace policies and contribute to a safe, organized, and professional office environment.
