Analyzes biological datasets generated by multiple to identify molecular insights related to disease mechanisms and disparities. This role involves developing and maintaining robust data analysis pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional research teams
Job Responsibility
Data analysis and Pipeline Development
1. Develop and implement bioinformatics workflows and pipelines.
2. Perform quality control and preprocessing of high-throughput data.
3. Maintain databases and utilize high-performance/cloud computing resources.
4. Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics and related fields.
Technical implementations
5. Write clean, well-documented code following established standards.
6. Use version control (Git/Github) for all project work.
7. Apply appropriate statistical and machine learning methods and understand their limitations.
8. Work with standard genomics file formats and conventions.
Collaboration and Learning
9. Partner with researchers to understand biological questions and design analyses
10. Participate in code review and collaborative development
11. Use genome browsers and biological databases effectively
12. Leverage AI tools appropriately while understanding their capabilities and limitations
13. Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics and related fields.
Scientific Communication
14. Document methods and results clearly for reproducibility.
15. Contribute to manuscript preparation and figure generation.
16. Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
17. Maintain project repositories with comprehensive documentation.
Job Qualification
Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics or similar field required.
1-3 years of relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral Degree in Bioinformatics or similar field.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
