Title: Open Space Planning Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $92604.95 to $107622.32 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Parks and Open Space is responsible for areas and facilities that add to the community’s enjoyment of Council developed spaces, to encourage and provide for passive and active reactional needs.  Parks and Recreation includes the following functions:


•    Open space and recreation planning and management
•    Reserves and commercial centres maintenance
•    Beach safety
•    Sporting fields
•    Tree management
•    Asset planning and management
•    Business support and management

Our opportunity :
This position supports open space planning, strategy and policy projects and programs. The key focus areas of this role include: 
1)    Support the development and implementation of integrated strategies, plans (including plans of management) and policies for Council’s open space, sportsgrounds and recreation facilities that meet our community’s needs and assists Council to set future directions.
2)    Undertake community engagement that identifies our community’s needs, aspirations and views and work collaboratively with internal and community stakeholders.
3)    Support the provision of evidence based open space, recreation and sport planning, strategy and policy advice, evaluation, analysis and recommendations.

We’re looking for a self-motivated project officer to join our community-centric team.  You’ll bring a positive and adaptable mindset to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
