Federated Underwriters customize solutions for our commercial clients when they need insurance products. They work closely with our sales team to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk. The Underwriting Specialist will be solving complex underwriting challenges using a broad perspective to identify solutions.

Our Underwriting Specialists are experts in their field and passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our sales team - this means emails and phone calls don't go unanswered, and in-person meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. Working in a collaborative team, there is the opportunity for coaching, mentoring and development from our more experienced underwriters to help grow your appetite of risks.

We want your talent

If you are great at:

• Underwriting – executing renewal rates, evaluating, and negotiating proper rates

• Sales and negotiations

• Solutions orientated

• Developing and maintaining professional relationship with brokers and/or customers

• Coaching and mentoring more junior underwriters on team

If you have:

• 5+ years of Underwriting experience in P&C and Auto

• Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for site visits

• Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations

• Strong customer service background

• Team-first mentality

We’re committed to pay transparency and fairness. The base salary range for this role is $92,000 - $138,000, which reflects the expected base pay – not the total compensation package. The actual base salary may vary depending on your experience, skills, and alignment with the position. We’re also open to candidates at different levels, so if this range doesn’t quite match your expectations, don’t let that hold you back — we’d still love to hear from you.
