About this role

HealthPartners is currently hiring a Senior ServiceNow Developer. The position involves developing and customizing ServiceNow to fit business needs and using coding and scripting skills to create solutions. It requires applying ITIL principles, troubleshooting issues, and documenting processes to ensure smooth operations. The developer will also suggest and implement improvements for greater efficiency, provide mentorship to junior team members, and play a key role in shaping best practices and the overall architecture of the platform.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience in ServiceNow development or in a related field such as .NET, C++, SQL, or HP Service Management.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, Hardware Asset Management, Vulnerability Management, Enterprise Asset Management, or Integrated Risk Management.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies. 
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and/or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its modules. 
  • Proficient with ServiceNow scripting languages (JavaScript, GlideRecord, etc.). 
  • Proficient with ServiceNow workflows, rules, business rules, policies, and integrations.
  • Proficient with relational databases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and people skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Proficient with ITIL framework and ITSM concepts. 
  • Problem-solving, math, and analytical skills.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting team members.
  • Business analyst skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline, or comparable industry experience
  • Strong experience with integrations, API’S, and automation practices
  • Experience with various technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .Net, AJAX, Cloud Computing, Json, SOAP, XML). 
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Developer, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist) are a plus. 
  • Staying updated on the latest developments in computer programming.
  • Customer Service focused, end user facing.
  • Experience leading teams and/or complex projects.

Hours/Location:

  • Monday – Friday; core business hours
  • This role includes participation in a scheduled on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:

  • (50%) Development, Configuration, and Customization. 
    • Develop and implement custom solutions and features on the ServiceNow platform.
    • Configure and customize existing ServiceNow modules and applications to meet specific business requirements.
    • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, including JavaScript, GlideRecord, and other ServiceNow scripting languages.
    • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • (20%) Troubleshooting and Support
    • Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow issues and incidents.
    • Provide technical support to end-users and other stakeholders.
    • Manage existing ServiceNow code and architecture.
  • (10%) Documentation and Communication
    • Document solutions, processes, and configurations.
    • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • (10%) Business Process Improvement:
    • Analyze business processes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of new or improved processes.
  • (10%) Continuous Improvement
    • Stay up to date with the latest ServiceNow releases and best practices.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ServiceNow processes and solutions.
