Position Summary: The Security Officer has primary responsibility to protect people, property, information, and the reputation of Park Nicollet Health Services. This position will represent Park Nicollet Health Services, performing duties in a courteous and professional manner that conveys a positive image of the organization and that fosters cooperation and support with staff, patients, visitors, and external agencies.
This position will respond to a wide variety of routine public service and emergency support calls requiring various problem solving techniques, judgment, verbal de-escalation and appropriate use of force.
This position requires the ability to independently manage work, completing the duties outlined in this job description and other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: FTE 0.9, 36 hours per week, Overnight security officer position working 12-hour shifts (1800 to 0600) and every other weekend. Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours per week/72 hours every two weeks) 0.9 FTE position.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. FBI/BCA background check required upon hire. Approval for continued employment is dependent on this background result.
2. Minimum high school graduate or equivalent and one or more of the following educational or experience requirements:
• 2 or 4-year degree in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice or currently in a degree program.
• Previous experience in healthcare security.
• Previous law enforcement or public safety experience.
• Previous customer service.
• Military experience as applicable.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills required.
