About this role

HealthPartners is currently hiring for an Application Analyst & Developer – Health Plan Premium Billing Systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring billing systems operate accurately and efficiently, which directly impacts member, employer, and broker satisfaction. 

 

The role is part of a small, dedicated team that provides production support, system enhancements, and conversion activities. The Application Analyst and Developer is responsible for documenting requirements, coding, and testing application changes. This role supports our long-term initiative to convert our current IRIS Premium Billing system to ORACLE (OHI and ORMB) and the conversion of IRIS reports to Power BI. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience/training
  • Three (3) years of IT analysis and technical design experience
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in Java programming, including coding, testing, and implementation.
  • Three (3) years of experience creating reports and dash boards in Power BI tools.
  • Strong experience in SQL and data mapping
  • Strong experience using Jira boards and other related tools.
  • Experience with test automation.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements and deliver output on those requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in technical and non-technical vernacular
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Expertise with more than one system development methodologies
  • Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Able to be on 24X7 on-call rotation to provide support.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five (3-5) years of professional experience in Java programming, including coding, testing, and implementation.
  • One (1) year of healthcare/ health plan experience

 

Hours/Location:

  • Monday – Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
  • This hybrid position requires occasional onsite presence for meetings and collaborative work sessions
  • This role includes participation in a scheduled on-call rotation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining data mappings
  • Creating MS Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Analyzing and visualizing data
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders
  • Assesses builds and deploys software and new application functionality.
  • Performs unit testing and assists with system and end-user test planning and testing.
  • Develops and/or assists with test scripts; may manage the testing process or advise business partners on testing components.
  • Analyzes functional and technical requirements for moderate changes or enhancements and updates system designs and specifications.
  • Diagnoses system failures and corrects issues.8
  • Supports 3rd party application software; interacts with vendors regarding problems, upgrade schedules, and software installations.
  • Provides requested documentation and interviews with auditors and third-party requestors.
