RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, update, and manage project schedules using MS Project, including creation and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
  • Support cost control activities by monitoring project budgets, tracking commitments and actuals, and preparing cost variance analyses to help maintain financial performance.
  • Conduct schedule reviews, perform critical path analysis, and highlight forecasted risks or delays that may affect project execution.
  • Prepare routine project control reports—such as weekly/monthly progress updates, cost summaries, and schedule dashboards—for project managers and client stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the schedule and cost impacts of changes in scope, design revisions, procurement delays, and field progress to support the project’s change management process.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and field supervisors to gather up-to-date information and ensure schedules and cost reports accurately reflect real project status.
  • Follow established project control procedures and contribute to improving tools, reporting standards, and overall project controls practices within the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5–7 years of experience in project controls (scheduling and cost control) within engineering, construction, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Education in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a similar discipline is an asset (degree or technical diploma).
  • Solid understanding of scheduling fundamentals (CPM, WBS development, activity sequencing) and cost control concepts (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis).
  • Strong proficiency with MS Project and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data organization); familiarity with MS Office for reporting and communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities within a part-time workload.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software in addition to MS Project.
  • Background in field execution, construction coordination, or site-based project roles is beneficial.
