Description
The Cumberland Valley Surgery Center is a same-day, multispecialty surgery center based in Hagerstown, MD. It is the longest-serving facility of its type for the community. The center features two treatment rooms providing local/monitored anesthesia care, one operating room designed for procedures requiring general anesthesia, a preoperative area, and a post-anesthesia care area.

Case Assignments
Pain management, orthopedic, general, dental/oral, gynecology, plastic and reconstructive, podiatry, and endoscopy
Shifts
Monday-Friday (8-hour shifts). No call. Cross credential at other local ASCs (Frederick Surgery Center).

Requirements
Responsibilities
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
Current license as a registered professional nurse
Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists

What you'll do
- The CRNA will conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, discuss anesthetic options with patients, and manage the induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia. They will also monitor patients' physiological conditions and perform clinical interventions as needed.
