We are looking for a Back-End Engineer with Python and/or Ruby to join our Servicing team, which sits under our Product Engineering Department.

This team builds the systems that keep our loans moving. As a back-end engineer, you’ll play a critical role in evolving our loan infrastructure, ensuring accuracy, speed and simplicity. Our team are keen problem solvers, collaborators and innovators. This is a brilliant opportunity to get involved in a team that are core to what our customers experience once they take out a product with Funding Circle.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

• Working in a complex problem domain where you can have a real and substantial impact on the business
• A perfect role for someone who has an interest or experience in relational databases, automated testing, microservices and/or event-driven architecture
• Champion best practices for pair programming and believing that working together is smarter than working in a silo

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

• Experience working in Ruby, Python or a similar language
• Strong fundamental programming skills
• Ability to quickly grasp and understand complex back end systems
• The know-how to proactively problem solve, identify and confidently mitigate risks, issues or address weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day
• A strong sense of initiative, seeking out answers where they may not immediately be clear and driving clarity from ambiguity
• It’s beneficial, but not essential if you have an interest in working with complex mathematical problems
