Compensation / Benefits

  • $13.21-$21.58/hr depending on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $1.50/hr.
  • Night differential $1.75/hr.
  • Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

The Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) at Norman Regional Health System is a fast paced, critical care environment providing specialized, high-acuity care to patients with cardiac conditions, both pre and post procedure. In addition to caring for patients undergoing a wide range of cardiac procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and Micra-pacemaker insertions, and cardiac ablation, we also care for patients hospitalized with a variety of cardiac diagnoses.

  • Provides basic patient care
  • Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
  • Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse
  • Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures
  • Facilitates processing of patients
  • Provides clerical receptionist support
  • Provides Coordinating Support
  • Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED. 
  • Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.

Experience

  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant. 
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Licensure/Certification

  • Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment. 
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
