Nordson is seeking a highly skilled IT Senior Manager to lead our HRIS and Business Application Solutions organization. At Nordson, the IT Senior Manager of HRIS and Business Application Solutions will develop the vision and strategy that aligns with Nordson’s existing HR, non-ERP Business Applications, and software development. This role would also influence future business solutions under one cohesive technology strategy and roadmap. In collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, cross-functional IT leaders and business stakeholders, this role will drive Nordson’s HR and non-ERP Business Application Solutions simplification, transformation, and solution delivery methodology to meet current and deliver on future business objectives.

The IT Senior Manager of HRIS and Business Application Solutions will shape their organization’s software engineering delivery model. This role will have a significant impact on Nordson’s solution development, standardization, strategic planning, and IT continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical software configuration and development expertise, business acumen, strategic vision, and leadership abilities to drive our digital initiatives forward. The role would also ensure technical oversight to help maximize technology investments and ensure that enterprise applications align with the company's strategic goals and support Nordson’s growth objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand their needs, requirements, and define technology or process-driven solutions that address the gaps. 
  • Define long‑term talent strategy including team structure, skills development, and succession planning
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and business stakeholders to create, refine, and drive the non-ERP Business solutions roadmap and implementation of the solutions.
  • Manage budgets, resource plans, vendor relationships, and cross‑functional initiatives supporting enterprise-wide technology transformation.
  • Lead the team in evaluating and selecting technologies, frameworks, tools, and platforms that enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.

Software Development & Configuration Management

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to cross‑functional software development teams to ensure high‑quality, utilization of best practices, timely delivery of products and enhancements.
  • Establish and drive best‑practice software engineering standards, including coding conventions, secure development practices, design patterns, and documentation expectations.
  • Establish and maintain robust release management frameworks to support predictable, secure, and repeatable deployment cycles.
  • Partner with IT operations, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to ensure releases meet organizational standards for security, risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create an environment that fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of modern engineering methodologies such as Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud‑native development.
  • Own and optimize configuration management tooling (e.g., Git-based platforms, artifact repositories, deployment orchestration tools) to support efficient and scalable workflows.

Solution Delivery:

  • Collaborate with PMO to deliver project objectives, timelines, prioritization, and implementation plans, ensuring cost effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of high-quality IT solutions.
  • Support expansion of ETS delivery framework, including waterfall and agile solution delivery methodologies across the organization.
  • Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and collaboration between development, QA, operations, and business teams
  • Manage multiple vendors including completion of RFPs/RFIs where applicable, negotiating contracts, oversight of vendor fulfillment of contractual responsibilities, and monitoring Service Level Agreement performance.
  • Partner with various stakeholders to select and implement most suitable technology solution in a manner that satisfies business requirements, enhances user experience, and maximizes technology capabilities.

Talent Management

  • Attract, develop, and lead a world-class IT Enterprise applications organization; develop a team culture of innovation, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
  • Monitor resource capacity and demand to ensure optimal resource utilization and project staffing.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where experimentation, learning, and adaptation are encouraged.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team and provide guidance for their professional development.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of HRIS and Business Application Solutions delivery.
  • Define and report on success criteria relevant for organization strategy.
  • Establish and drive improvement plans for non-performing measures.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on defined KPIs, and project status.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or technology related field. Working experience can be substituted for academic experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT Software Management, with a minimum of 3 years in an IT leadership role.
  • Working experience within HRIS function and knowledge of CRM applications such as Workday, UKG, Sales Force, ServiceNow, and other business applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Prior experience implementing a minimum of 2 CRM applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to drive organizational change and alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise software, cloud solutions, technology trends, and industry best practices.
  • Fiscal fluency and ability to manage budgets and articulate and demonstrate return on investment for IT

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with technology implementation and application management.
  • Experience working with executive leadership team.
  • Skilled in achieving quality and security compliance standards across IT systems.
