About this role

<p>Nordic Knots is looking for a Business &amp; Buying Controller to join our team in Stockholm. This is a key analytical role at the heart of the company, combining business controlling with demand planning, buying and commercial analysis. You will work closely with the CFO, Head of Finance &amp; Analytics, Production, Design and Commercial teams to ensure profitable growth and data-driven decision making as we continue to scale.</p><p>This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the business, understands the full value chain from product development to sales, and thrives in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.</p><p></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>As Business &amp; Buying Controller, you will be responsible for developing and running the company’s financial and commercial controlling framework while also owning planning and buying analysis for curtains and emerging textile categories. These categories are in an early growth phase, which means the role has a significant emphasis on building forecasting logic, planning principles and commercial follow-up from the ground up.</p><p></p><p>You will act as a bridge between finance, production and commercial teams, ensuring that decisions around assortment, buying and growth are supported by solid data and financial insight.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Business Controlling &amp; Financial Analysis</strong></p><ul><li><p>Run weekly, monthly and quarterly business reporting</p></li><li><p>Define, track and communicate KPIs across sales, margin, inventory and cash flow</p></li><li><p>Perform ongoing commercial and financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities</p></li><li><p>Develop business cases for investments and development projects</p></li><li><p>Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning together with the CFO</p></li><li><p>Facilitate the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Demand Planning, Buying &amp; Merchandising for new categories </strong></p><ul><li><p>Build and continuously refine demand and purchase planning frameworks for curtains and new textile categories</p></li><li><p>Develop structured buying plans in close collaboration with Production, based on sales performance, lead times and growth assumptions</p></li><li><p>Monitor stock levels, sell-through and capital tie-up to support healthy inventory development</p></li><li><p>Analyze category performance and identify commercial risks, gaps and growth potential</p></li><li><p>Support assortment decisions and pricing discussions with data-driven insights</p></li><li><p>Establish planning principles, parameters and follow-up routines suited for new product categories rather than mature assortments</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration &amp; Insight Generation</strong></p><ul><li><p>Work closely with Production, Design and Commercial teams to align financial, operational and commercial perspectives</p></li><li><p>Provide clear analytical input ahead of launches, expansions and assortment changes</p></li><li><p>Build and maintain planning models, reports and dashboards tailored to business needs</p></li><li><p>Continuously improve data structures, assumptions and analytical tools as the categories scale</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Your Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>Degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering or equivalent</p></li><li><p>Around 3–5 years of relevant experience in controlling, demand planning, financial analysis or similar roles</p></li><li><p>A deep understanding of business dynamics paired with proficient analytical abilities</p></li><li><p>Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills. You are comfortable with complex models and large datasets</p></li><li><p>Meriting experiences include</p></li><li><p>Experience working with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central</p></li><li><p>Experience from online retail, consumer goods, fashion, home, or design</p></li><li><p>Experience from a start-up or scale-up environment</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of data analytics tools such as R, Python, or advanced BI tools</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><ul><li><p>Results-driven with a keen awareness of commercial opportunities</p></li><li><p>Organized, attentive to details, and capable of maintaining precision while considering broad perspectives</p></li><li><p>Resourceful, dedicated to finding solutions, and capable of assuming responsibilities</p></li><li><p>Skilled at turning data into clear, actionable insights</p></li><li><p>An effective communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally</p></li><li><p>Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment</p></li><li><p>Fluent in English</p></li></ul>
