We are looking for interns to join Nordea’s Leveraged Finance team, the leading Leveraged Finance franchise in the Nordics

About our team

Meet the Leveraged Finance team. Our role is to arrange, structure, underwrite and execute a variety of financing transactions (including acquisition financing) for Private Equity clients. We offer our clients a broad range of financing solutions including bilateral loans, club loans, distributed leveraged loans as well as high yield bonds.

Our team consists of ca 45 highly dedicated professionals working across the Nordics. We pride ourselves on our client focus, collaborative approach, deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence.

You will already from day one be included in the structuring and execution of Leveraged Finance transactions. As a part of our team you will get the opportunity to work with Nordea colleagues in a pan-Nordic setup. You will quickly become an integral part of our team and work closely with internal stakeholders and our Nordic and international Private Equity clients. Projects will be in collaboration with other teams within Nordea including Corporate Finance, High Yield & Loan Syndicate, Risk Solutions (derivatives and hedging advisory) and Debt Capital Markets teams.

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Support the execution of Leveraged Finance transactions for Private Equity clients
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and modelling
• Conduct industry, company and market analysis to support projects and transaction execution
• Prepare high-quality presentations and pitch materials
• Build a professional network with senior bankers and colleagues across Nordea

Your background and skills include:

• To be eligible, you should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in Finance, Economics, Business, or a similar field – preferably with an expected graduation date no later than June 2027
• Curiosity & Passion: You have a genuine interest in finance and are excited to contribute your unique perspective
• Strong Academic Background: You’re committed to excellence in your studies and ready to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting
• Analytical & Strategic Thinking: You enjoy diving into data and solving complex problems
• Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to learn from others
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

It would be ideal if you also…

• Are currently pursuing a Master’s degree
• Have prior internship or relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or related fields
