Tasks & Responsibilities
- Triage incoming transport requests from clients via phone and email communication
- Transfer the information received from the client into dispatch database
- Develop logistics plans for individual transports, including ground, commercial air, and charter air transportation, based on client needs
- Engage and schedule appropriate transportation resources
- Dispatch transportation resources via phone, providing clear and concise direction as to assignment details
- Monitor ground and air resources throughout the respective transport, ensuring all points of contact are kept up to date on all relevant movements
- Maintain accurate notes and enter transport updates into dispatch database
- Build rapport with client coordinators, region supervisors, and drivers, exuding a customer first attitude
- Empathize with, evaluate, and escalate client concerns to appropriate members of the management team
Job Requirements & Preferences
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in dispatch, transportation logistics, or medical administrative roles - preferred
- Availability to work all shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of computer operations sufficient to enter, retrieve and manipulate data
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Effectively prioritizes situations and makes decisions based on the information received
- Able to handle multiple tasks, receiving and communicating information to and from several sources, while ensuring calls for service are dispatched and monitored in a timely manner
- Possess a clear and understandable radio and telephone voice
