About this role
At Platforms Engineering, we are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to drive the technical direction and quality of our SaaS web applications running in a Kubernetes-based environment. This role spans backend and frontend development using Go and React, and operates in a cloud-native setup on GCP with services such as GKE and GCS. The Principal Software Engineer works closely with architects, senior engineers, and SREs to shape how the system evolves over time, ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability. While remaining fully hands-on, the role carries responsibility for system-level design choices, technical standards, and the most complex or high-impact changes. A dedicated SRE team is responsible for monitoring, incident management, and 24/7 operations, while this role focuses on building correct, resilient, and production-ready software.
