About this role

Responsibilities

Noblis ESI is seeking to hire an AI/ML Engineer to support our government customer on-site in Chantilly, VA. 

 

As an experienced AI/ML Engineer with our team, you will be working with our federal clients as SETA support to advise the government on developers innovative solutions for our client's mission challenges with a focus on ML models. In this role, you will work with the development team on behalf of the government to ensure best practices and state of the art data science/machine learning processes are utilized for implementation of ML solutions to satisfy the government's requirements. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Advise the government customer on innovative solutions with a focus on ML models. 
  • Directly support the government , monitoring and verifying that the developer applies best practices and state-of-the-art data science and machine learning processes. 
  • Assist the government in developing business or product requirements for specific missions. 
  • Advise the government in the development of business or product requirements for specific missions. 
  • Advise the government in the developer's translation of business or product requirements into ML solutions.
  • Review the developer's design and implementation of feature engineering pipelines. 
  • Review and advise the government on the developer's deployment of models into multi-node Ray clusters. 
  • Work with large datasets and support a Linux and Windows environment. 

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. 
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree OR Master's degree with 5-8 years of experience OR Associates degree with 8+ years of experience OR High School diploma with 11+ years of experience. 
  • Experience working professional in a Data Science or development environment within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Experience developing and using agentic AI frameworks including Autogen. 
  • Experience with prompt engineering beyond traditional code writing and debugging. 
  • Understanding of how to craft prompts for discrete tasks such as data labeling and processing. 
  • Experience with asynchronous Python development using frameworks like Ray and FastAPI. 
  • Experience developing and deploying AI/ML models as part of production systems, implementing software development best practices for scalability and reliability. 
  • Experience developing and applying advanced machine learning methods including clustering, regression, optimization, recommender engines, and artificial neural networks. 
  • Deploying models into multi-node Ray clusters utilizing various GPU resources. 
  • Experience with developing and deploying resources to cloud environments. 
  • Experience working within Linux and Windows environments and managing resources for efficiency. 
  • Experience or knowledge of: 
    • Python 
    • Ray and FastAPI 
    • Autogen and other agentic frameworks 
    • PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, and Scikit 
    • Experience using CUDA and NVDIA GPU accelerated libraries 

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of MCP Tool calling and its use as part of an agentic workflow. 
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for software/hardware optimization specifically related to running ML models of GPUs.
  • Experience working with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. 
  • STEM degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

USD $132,900.00 - USD $207,750.00 /Yr.
