We are currently looking for candidates for the Tool & Die Maintenance Advanced Work-Study Program to join our team in Decherd, TN.  As a Nissan Tool & Die Maintenance Technician, you will have the responsibility for maintaining automotive sheet metal stamping dies, including all “A” class outer panels. Additional responsibilities include maintaining large cast iron dies by welding, machining, hand air grinding, and other shop processes.


A Day in the Life:   
•    Perform die maintenance on forging/casting dies, including assembly, CNC machining, TIG welding, hand grinding / polishing, and testing
•    Repair and maintain production tools and dies by utilizing machine tools, welding, and die grinders (Hand Grinding)
•    Verify conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments
•    Modify dies to conform to engineering changes; conduct tryouts of new dies
•    Troubleshoot problems during production; Work to blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions
•    Must be able to work in various temperature environments
 
Who We’re Looking for:
Required:
•  Current Decherd Nissan or Yates employee in good standing; no current corrective action, written or above.
• Eligible to earn a mobile power equipment license, including a forklift and crane.
