SUMMARY:


Technical Program Manager for the Nintendo Technology Development Inc. (NTD) organization will manage technical projects of substantial scope and complexity, from concept to close, many of which may include coordination with members of Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL) and its subsidiaries, as well as with strategically significant external partners. This role directly manages projects and/or people. 


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES


  • Manages technical programs consisting of strategically aligned projects of substantial scope and complexity.

  • Independently analyzes and resolves substantially complex issues that have significant impact on the program or team, including technical details and cross-organizational dependencies.

  • Manages ambiguity at any stage and has responsibility for overall program outcomes.

  • Collaborates extensively with members of Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL) and its subsidiaries, and with strategically significant external partners, while maintaining positive and productive business relationships.

  • Prioritizes project streams according to strategic business requirements.

  • Develop roadmaps and plans for technical projects with input from internal cross-functional and cross-organizational engineering teams, and from external partners.

  • Analyzes workflow and resources to provide input to management on budget, resource allocation and project / program alignment.

  • Leads effort to define, report on, and improve KPIs for and across their programs; utilizes information to improve overall program performance.

  • Incorporates and applies process improvements across programs and encourages others to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with all internal teams, strategically significant external partners and cross-organization senior and executive management. 

  • Negotiates with and influences internal audiences and resolves communication difficulties between others.

  • Produces comprehensive reports for tracking program health and status to take corrective action as needed.

  • Prepare budget inputs for fiscal year planning.

  • Collaborates with managers across the organization and seeks out the diverse experience of others to achieve program outcomes.

  • Owns decisions that impact achieving critical strategic objectives on their programs.

  • Participates in vendor selection and management of the relationship.

  • Facilitates career development of other project and program managers, identifying areas for focus and improvement.

  • May manage others.

  • Up to 10% travel; domestic and international possible.








SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS


  • 6-10 years of experience managing Technical Programs and Projects and/or managing Engineering teams

  • Expertise in embedded product development lifecycles, preferably in system software development

  • Authority on project management models and methodologies

  • Comprehensive experience with industry standard project management and development tools

  • Comprehensive experience with software development and engineering practices

  • Experience conducting in-depth analysis of complex issues and resolving them in creative ways

  • Experience managing others

  • Fluency in Japanese a plus 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent preferred 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / Agile Certification or equivalent coursework preferred

  • Valid passport may be required   


This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. 


  




This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Pay Range:
$169,000$304,200 USD
