DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES



  • Serve as the studio’s key finance point of contact and overseeing all financial budgets and studio’s accounting functions 

  • Finance and Reporting

    • Build and monitor the Studio’s fiscal year budgets, project budgets and special budgets ensuring appropriate funding 

    • Monitor budget requests from various departments, provide variance explanations and business insights to business partners and project stakeholders. 

    • Provide updates to forecasts while incorporating variance analysis (actual v. budget and forecast) as needed.  

    • Work with development and operations teams to understand evolving needs of the studio, generate projections and identify funding sources 

    • Collaborate with senior management to develop forecasts and budgets for current and upcoming projects, including staffing allocations.

    • Conduct appropriate research and analysis to prepare special reports for senior management and development teams. 

    • Recommend cost control strategies and operational improvements as necessary.



  • Accounting 

    • Work and collaborate with Nintendo on accounting and accounts payable activities and initiatives as Retro Studio’s Lead Financial Analyst. 

    • Review and perform account reconciliations, data compilation and analyses ensuring accuracy and timely delivery for month end close.

    • Coordinate purchase requisitions and manage status of purchase orders

    • Assist Nintendo with tax matters as needed.

    • Maintain accuracy in all asset files and provide support to all work papers. 

    • Ensure the studio’s legal compliance with federal and state accounting and reporting requirements.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 

  • 7+ years’ accounting, finance, or project management experience. 

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Experience working with international vendors/business partners. 

  • Schedule flexibility (est. twice monthly) to meet with international partners as needed.

  • Able to work with highly confidential and/or sensitive materials/information. 

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

  • Advanced time management skills. 

  • Excellent Excel skills. 

  • Prior management experience preferred. 

  • Knowledge of gaming industry & Nintendo a plus.

This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Pay Range:
$125,000$146,000 USD
